Weekly Email

Sorry it’s a day late, but here’s the weekly email!  Enjoy!

From the OCs:

Student Employee Appreciation

April 5-9 is Student Employee Appreciation Week campus-wide!  The Student Employment office will be providing  activities and drawings for prizes in 2024 WSC and at a booth in the WSC Terrace throughout the week.  Try to make it sometime during the week to have fun and win things, and let the OCs know if you win anything cool!

From Kim:

Evaluations

Starting April 1st, End of Semester Evaluations will be open. Lab Assistants/Lab Consultants should each complete 4. Everyone should evaluate their Group Leader. This is extremely important. Evaluations will be due April 17th. That gives you well over two weeks, so make sure you don't forget and get on them soon. (Supervisors will not be completing End of Semester Evaluations, and should instead conduct their final Group Leader Conferences and send in the reports).  Direct any questions toward Kim.

From Bradley :

Conference Choir

I was commenting to my wife that back in the olden days, when I was a student, I used to recognize people in BYU choirs in General Conference. I moaned that I rarely recognize anyone now. Imagine my surprise when I started noticing people I knew in the choir for the Priesthood session. (Video is available at the beta Church website if you want to hear the songs.) I noticed some professors that I know, some computer support people that I work closely with, and near the very end I even saw one of our very own shift supervisors, Jordan Malouf. On the instant replay, I was able to spot Ryan Nelson, one of our support techs, as well. Finally, I can feel famous by association again.

From Kyle:

Spring Hours

Kyle will be opening up the remaining hours for Spring Term tomorrow, Tuesday, at 3:00pm. Everyone will be able to take as many hours as they want at that point, so please be sure to pick up whatever hours you want before then and then take whatever you want at that time. Everyone will be open to take up to 40, though please don’t work long shifts or excessive hours in a single day as described in Kyle’s original email.

Let Kyle know if you have any questions.

From Jesse:

After-Hours Lab Usage

It has come to our attention that some of the labs are being utilized by our employees after they have been closed for the day.  It is our organization's policy that they cannot be used by anyone, including employees, after the listed closing hours.  However, 1001A and 1001B JKB, the training classrooms, do not have this same rule.  If you desire to use a lab after hours, those are open until the JKB closes and are often used by members of the office staff.  Please be aware that if you are using other labs after hours, you will be asked to move to a lab that is open.  Thanks for all your hard work!

Training

The training deadline has passed.  If you haven't finished your training yet or need an extension and haven't already contacted Jesse, contact him before he contacts you (it'll work in your favor).  Thanks for such a great semester!  A true increase in dedication and quality was seen this semester.

Have a great week!
